I remember my first Redentore on a boat… I felt so grown up, about ten years old with my mum and a bunch of adults, waiting for midnight fireworks, eating cold cotolette alla milanese…
Festa del Redentore is a local celebration in the city of Venice and probably the most loved celebration. It involves: a dark origin (celebrating the end of the Plague thanks to the Virgin Mary), summer heat, fireworks on the water, and lots of food! It falls always on a Saturday (the third of the month of July). The whole city is in festa.
